“Family as Foundation for Renewed Economic Growth in Europe”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Members of Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice – Slovak Chapter Chapter, in cooperation with Konrad Adenauer Foundation and Central European Business and Social Initiative, organized an International Economic Conference\u00a0“Family as Foundation for Renewed Economic Growth in Europe”\u00a0<\/strong>on 12. June 2014 in Bratislava, hosting speakers, professors, experts, entrepreneurs, businessmen and politicians from Ukraine, Austria, Italy, Slovakia and United states of America.<\/p>\n

Following Address of Pope Francis to Participants of Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice Annual Meeting in Rome in May 2014, conference focused on combining theoretical and practical aspects of Economic and Moral Values in the areas of Family, Christian Community and Society. Part of the discussions focused on implementing Christian values in the areas of Social, Economic and Political Life, with particular discussions about the role of Family in Contemporary Society.<\/p>\n

Distinguished panelists included\u00a0Professor Stefano Zamagni<\/strong>\u00a0– Vice-Director, School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University, Professor of Economy at Bologna university,\u00a0\u013dudov\u00edt \u00d3dor –<\/strong>\u00a0Member of the Council for Budget Responsibility,\u00a0Fr. Marcel Guarnizo<\/strong>\u00a0–\u00a0Pro-Europa Foundation,\u00a0Christiaan W.J.M. Alting von Geusau\u00a0<\/strong>–\u00a0President of International Theological Institute Trumau,\u00a0H.E. Mons. Cyril Vasi\u013e SJ\u00a0<\/strong>–\u00a0Secretary of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches,\u00a0Patrik Dani\u0161ka\u00a0<\/strong>–\u00a0Director of Human Rights and Family Policy Institute,\u00a0Fr. Yuriy Kolasa\u00a0<\/strong>–\u00a0International Theological Institute Trumau, Protosyncellus \/ Vicar general for the Byzantine Catholics in Austria and\u00a0Mons. Luis Okulik<\/strong>\u00a0– Secretary of the Social Affairs Commission at the Council of European Bishops\u2019 Conferences.<\/p>\n

Several leading political figures have attended the conference, including Advisor to the Prime Minister, former Prime Minister of Slovakia, former Ministers of Interior, Education, as well as several Members of National Council and of European Parliament. Auxiliary Bishop of Bratislava\u00a0H.E. Jozef Halko<\/strong>\u00a0participated in the working breakfast, Apostolic Nuncius to Slovakia H.E.\u00a0Mario Giordana\u00a0<\/strong>and Minister of Justice\u00a0Tomas Borec<\/strong>\u00a0greeted participants of the conference with personal letters and Secretary General of the Foundation\u00a0<\/strong>Massimo Gattamelata<\/strong>\u00a0represented the foundation headquarters during the conference. Members of the Foundation informed Bratislava\u00a0Archbishop Stanislav Zvolensky<\/strong>\u00a0and Apostolic Nuncius to Slovakia about the outcomes of the conference in individual follow-up meetings.<\/p>\n
