With much to report, let\u2019s \u2018get right to it\u2019:<\/p>\n

First of all:\u00a0Congratulations to James Rice<\/strong>, KSG, Vice-President and Secretary of CAPP-USA – on his\u00a0election to the Board of\u00a0Fondazione Centesimus Annus \u2013 Pro Pontifice<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0at its September meeting. Jim is a founding member of CAPP in the USA and we wish him every success in his tenure.<\/p>\n

8 November \u2013 The Ninth Annual Business Leaders Communion Breakfast<\/u><\/strong>, at\u00a00900\u00a0<\/strong>at\u00a0Fairfield University<\/strong><\/u>.<\/p>\n

The economist handpicked by Pope Francis to tackle the complexities of Vatican finances, Mr. Jospeh Zahra, will key note the Diocese\u2019s 9th<\/sup>\u00a0Annual Business Leaders Communion Breakfast with a talk entitled: \u201cInside the Financial and Administrative Changes at the Vatican: What Pope Francis Wants and Why He is Doing It<\/u>\u201d. Mr. Zahra is the former head of Bank of Valletta, a renowned economist, a member of CAPP and the Vice-Coordinator of the newly established Council for the Economy of the Holy See. The Council is charged with financial oversight of all Vatican-related entities\u2014including the Roman curia\u2014and is the most powerful of three new bodies created by Pope Francis to ensure accountability and transparency in the management of the Vatican\u2019s financial affairs.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s awardee will be local businessman Mr. Brian E. Moran, a key contributor to the Malta Justice Initiative and author of \u201cThe Justice Imperative: How Hyper-Incarceration Has Hijacked the American Dream<\/u>\u201d.<\/p>\n

Beginning with Mass at 0900 at the Fairfield University Chapel, the event will end at noon. The Mass will be concelebrated by Theodore Cardinal McCarrick, Archbishop Emeritus of Washington, The Most Reverend Frank Caggiano, Bishop of Bridgeport and Reverend Richard Ryscavage, S.J., Director of the Center for Faith and Public Life, Fairfield University.<\/p>\n

Pope Francis\u2019 visit to World Meeting of Families<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 CAPP welcomed over 1,000 visitors at our booth at the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia (see attached photo). Many thanks to\u00a0Pat Fakharzadeh<\/u>,\u00a0Nancy Martin<\/u>\u00a0and\u00a0Diane Guerino<\/u>\u00a0for all their efforts in designing and staffing this effort over three days.<\/p>\n

Catholic University of America\/CAPP Certificate Course in CST<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 CAPP\u2019s Master\u2019s level, 35 hour course will be offered in Washington on\u00a01-6 November<\/strong>. X. Zahra is delivering this address at numerous events from 8 through 13 November in Fairfield County, NYC, Notre Dame and Montreal.<\/p>\n
